Middle School

Our Middle School program is designed to help students reach higher in their learning journey. We expect students to participate in all classes, keep their materials organized, and track all their assignments. At the Middle School level, every class has assigned homework.

Morning Block includes instruction in Discipleship, Composition, Literature, Grammar, and Public Speaking.  Students have regular homework in all disciplines covered in this class. Students should expect to spend a minimum of 45-90 minutes per day on their homework.

We offer afternoon classes for Middle School that would otherwise be difficult to offer at home.  This year, students will participate in a Music & Theater class (in combination with the High School students), Logic & Literature (using critical thinking skills about culture and literature), and Latin I (in combination with High School students).  We often offer a Middle School Science class, and will offer it again if enrollment numbers and teacher availability afford an additional class (to be offered as an alternative to Music & Theater).

Because everyone develops and learns at a different pace, we offer 9th grade as a "swing year". Students in 9th grade may participate in either the Middle School or High School program. If you need assistance deciding what's appropriate for your 9th grader, email [email protected].
