Parent Word & Deed Agreement

As a parent of KC Connected Homeschool, I am committed to building a culture of community.  Here are some of the ways that I will contribute:

• I will uphold the tenets of the KC Connected Homeschool Values Statement in the ways that I behave and interact with others while attending all events and co-op days.

• I will make it a priority to come to co-op days, and I will participate fully when I am present.

• I will make sure my children bring the correct supplies and books with them to co-op days.  I will ensure that they are prepared with the proper snacks and lunch to support their success as students.

• I will follow up with my children to ensure they complete homework assignments as required. 
  Emergent:  Homeroom and Language Arts are required
  Intermediate:  Homeroom and Language Arts are required
  Upper:  Homeroom, Language Arts, and Science are required
  Middle & High School:  homework is required for all classes

• When my family needs to miss a day of co-op, I will talk to the teachers about what will be missed and be diligent to teach my children the things they need to learn at home.

• I will stay engaged with the activities I attend, building relationships with other families.

• I will support the students in my assigned learning areas in their behavior.  I will teach them how to build healthy relationships by giving them a healthy example to follow.  

• If a student needs an accommodation in order to help them learn better, I will help them to identify that need and communicate about it.

• I will honor others and the Lord with the way that I use my body.  I will honor personal space and not cause harm to others.  I will avoid uncomfortable physical contact with children that are not my own, and I will help the children around me maintain safe boundaries.

• I will follow safety rules, including safety drills, and help the children around me to do the same.

• I will operate as a member of the Body of Christ - I will do my part, and I will celebrate the giftings of others.

• I will speak only in ways that bring life to others and honors God.  I will not put others down, disrespect others, or gossip.

• I will exercise respect toward the building that we have been allowed to use for our programming, and I will help my children and other children in the co-op to also respect the building.

• I will not enter parts of the building that I have not been given permission to enter, and I will participate in the collective supervision of children to keep them only in authorized areas.

• I will follow the Matthew 18:15-17 model to solve any conflict in which I am involved.

• I will honor the electronics policy set forth in the Family Handbook.

• I understand that the tenants of this agreement are intended to help our community grow in unity.  I agree to hold accountable the other parents in this co-op to these tenants with grace and love.  Additionally, I agree to receive accountability from the other parents in this co-op with grace and love.

It is a blessing to me and my family to commit to the other families in KC Connected Homeschool.  I will do my best to walk with Jesus and learn about the world He created and also build up the families around me in their walks with Jesus and their journeys to educate their children.
